DIY Bride

As the ultimate DIY bride, I have decided to save an extra $1,000 and make my own wedding cake. Difficult, sure, big task to take on, definitely, a time waster on the wedding day, nah :) So, my best friend ever has stepped up to help with the challenge. Right now, Miss Kacie and I are focused on playing with fondant icing. This is a new experience for both of us but with Kacie's amazing skills, we have gotten off to a great start! We are looking into stars (of course) and icing the entire cake; I think that Kacie has this icing thing down, she's practically a pro!

Kacie definitely has mad fondant icing skills :) Thank you, Kacie!!

Architecture

I have an obsessive interest in architecture; anywhere I go, I'm looking a details and structures in ways that normal people don't. I want a home that is aesthetically pleasing and architecturally amazing. This is an old commercial building off Congress Avenue that an amazing architect transformed into a brilliant condo.

My Best Friend's Wedding

This weekend, my best friend got married. It's wonderful to have a friend that I care so deeply about that I still get emotional when I think about her big day. As I grow up and begin to figure out life, I learn who of my friends will always be around. I know that I am now building on friendships that will last a lifetime and am slowly letting go of those that were never that strong. Micki will always be one of my best friends. She was so beautiful and I hope to take some pointers for my wedding day...omigosh, I am officially next.

Mick, your wedding was amazing and I was so honored to be a part of it...

Flowers

I LOVE these centerpieces; they are simple yet stunning. They add to the modern, minimalist theme that I have for decorations. I don't want over the top centerpieces that keep you from seeing or talking to whoever is across from you. This is a great way to make a beautiful statement with flowers without spending a ton.

Christian Louboutin

I LOVE shoes...could these be the ones ;)

Austin Art Garage

The Austin Art Garage is my new favorite oasis. They only carry art from local artist which, I believe, only makes their selection better. Every piece is original and amazing. Clint and I bought our first big art purchase at the Garage. I had been staring at this artist's work for weeks and I finally was able to drag Clint in to look; he loved the paintings so we bought two from the artist Michael Drake. If you live in Austin or if you are ever driving through, check out the Art Garage; it is amazing.

The Easy Part

The wedding dress!!! Who knew that this would be the easiest thing :) Although, I would never post pictures of the dress, I will tell you that my New York shopping trip landed me at the only wedding boutique that I needed to see...Pronovias. The three floors of decadence will make any girl swoon. I spent my time on the Manuel Moto floor trying to narrow my choices but if the dress is Pronovias, it is beautiful. Thank goodness Micki was there to be my personal paparazzi and shopper. After looking through the dresses, we were shown to our private dressing room on the 3rd floor. The process was so relaxing; we had champagne, total privacy and a great time! I got to try all of the dresses on in my size which makes deciding so much easier. I tried on four dresses of my own preference and then, she brought out a dress that she thought "had my personality". It was perfect from the first look to the prancing around the store, I knew that this was the dress. I won't even give a hint about it but it is truly the most beautiful dress that I have ever seen. I bought it without hesitation.

Then Clint, Mick and I celebrated at a great wine bar next door, oh and we shared a celebratory cigar :)
