Wedding Colors

More changes...I love purple and red; it is the greatest mix of vibrancy. I am bringing back my original color of dark red and adding it to the wonderful palette of plum and pewter.

Our Wedding Monogram...AMAZING!!

Bouquet Toss

How do you "toss" the bouquet if you are in a place where an actual toss isn't appropriate? Maybe a cutsie raffle using tickets that are placed at the table; hmm...

The Wedding Bouquet

As always, I am looking for a more unique ideas and things to add to my wedding. Today was a slamdunk on wedding searching because I found so many amazing, unique and budget friendly things...my favorite and new idea, a wedding bouquet lacking fresh flowers! Gasp, that's not traditional at all...thank goodness ;)

Please, please check out Emplume; this is on my radar and I may have to give in to the $300 price tag to have one of these!! Truly, I will save on inflated floral cost anyway.

These bouquets are made of silk that is bunched like roses; some people are SOO freaking creative! Created by Hannah Roses and all on Etsy (greatest website for wedding accessories EVER!).

Today's Great Find

SOMEONE THAT DOES CUSTOM MONOGRAMS FOR AN AMAZING PRICE!!
For the Modern Bride does custom monograms and I am super excited to see what they create for me, if they can read my bridezilla design request :)

Great Idea

So my friend just got back from her wedding in Portland, Oregon (sun was setting in the background right after the ceremony, gorgeous) and she shared a great ides for the bridal bouquet toss. She gathered all of the bridesmaids bouquets, bound them together and threw that; such a simple but great idea!

Pretty Cakes

I am a sucker for pretty and creative cakes and just had to post these from Bakery Bar.
Gorgeous layers of shades of white

A little Ed Hardy theme? Hmm, I like it :)

Beautiful fall leaves...perfect for my wedding cake!

The "Reception Dress"

As much as I know that this is another way to get brides to spend way too much money on their special day, I am very intrigued by the "reception dress". It is a new line of dresses that are gorgeous but short; very wedding appropriate without the length and heaviness of a wedding dress...I kinda want one.

Invitations

Ceci New York makes the GREATEST New York themed wedding invitations ever!! I love them all; just look at her amazing detail.

New York Wedding 2009

So it is official, unchangeable and I can hardly contain my excitement!! Clint and I are getting married in New York City!!!

Everyone always asks 'why'; we aren't from there and we don't currently live there so why New York? Well when Clint and I started dating, he was living in Manhattan. My first trip to New York was a ten day excursion of discovering the city and discovering Clint. I was living in Dallas at the time and the distance between us was an obstacle but this trip just accelerated our feelings for each other.

Even though he had been living in New York for a year, he hadn't done all of the fun "touristy" type things that we got to experience together. We got to spend a day at the MOMA, eat at Carnegie Deli (HUGE NY cheesecake, yumm), explore Central Park and so much more...we have been back to NYC twice since. We have seen New York in the spring, winter and fall. Some people have a restaurant or a song, we have New York.

As wedding planning began to unfold, I knew that I wanted something amazing but small and personal. Dallas was all about family, Austin is too new to us but New York was perfect! If I am going to do something, I am going to do it with flash and New York is the definition of fabulous. The entire wedding has a Manhattan personality to it; my dress is very fashion forward, my shoes and veil are far from traditional and the groomsman will be dressed like something from the pages of GQ.

This will be a very private event because, essentially, we are going to New York to elope, it is just more planned out than your typical elopement. But to all of my friends and family, we will be having a wedding reception to honor all of you that have been there along the way :)

New Last Name

Getting closer to Mrs. Lacey Miller!!!
I love this 'M' because it was part of the tiara of Princess Margaret, daughter of Queen Elizabeth.
You know how it's hard to remember to write '2009' in January because you still want to write the previous year...how is it going to be to go from Devlin to Miller? The concept of changing my name is crazy and exciting! I should have grown up with the initials LVM anyway because I truly am my dad's daughter which would have made me Lacey McDaniel. McDaniel will be featured on my wedding invitations because my dad is adopting me :) Something he and I have always wanted to do!!
